Melbourne United (NBL) inked experienced 38-year old Australian ex-international 205cm swingman Joe Ingles for upcoming season. He has played for the last two years at Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA. But in 30 games he recorded just 1.6ppg and 1.1apg last season.
He also represented Australia at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) two years ago. During this event he scored an average of 6.6 points per game and had 3.4 rebounds per game.
Ingles is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to four different countries on three different continents (Europe, Australia and of course North America). Ingles has played previously in Israel (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Spain (FC Barcelona and Coviran Granada), NBA (Milwaukee Bucks, Utah Jazz and Orlando Magic) and Australia (Boomers, Noarlunga City Southern Tigers, Australian Institute of Sport and Melbourne South Dragons).
His team made it to the NBA Semifinals in 2025.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Melbourne Utd.
