The game between Top Four teams took place in Findon. host Adelaide 36ers defeated Melbourne Phoenix 116-108. Adelaide 36ers dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Melbourne Phoenix's 62 and made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Adelaide 36ers had a 38-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Melbourne Phoenix was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and international guard Joshua Giddey (203-2) chipped in 16 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Adelaide 36ers' coach Conner Henry allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international swingman Mitch Creek (196-92) responded with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and New Zealand forward Yannick Wetzell (208, college: SDSU) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Adelaide 36ers will face New Zealand Breakers in Auckland in the next round. Melbourne Phoenix will play on the road against Perth Wildcats and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
