Regular Season Round 4: Cairns - NZL Breakers 79-85

New Zealand Breakers has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Cairns, where they defeated Cairns Taipans (2-6) 85-79 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of New Zealand guard Tai Webster (193-95, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-91, college: Pittsburgh) who added 22 points during the contest. At the losing side Brazilian-American guard Scott Machado (186-90, college: Iona) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists and American forward Cameron Oliver (203-96, college: Nevada) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory New Zealand Breakers went down to ninth position due to points difference. It was Cairns Taipans' fourth loss in a row. They dropped to the seventh place with six games lost.
