Regular Season Round 4: SE Melbourne - Illawarra 98-82

There was a change at the NBL leadership position after last games. Round 4 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Illawarra Hawks (4-1). They were defeated by fifth ranked Melbourne Phoenix (3-3) 98-82 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Illawarra Hawks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ben Moore (203-95, college: SMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay, agency: Pensack Sports) who added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Five Melbourne Phoenix players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized South Sudanese forward Deng Adel (201-97, college: Louisville) responded with 17 points and the former international forward Cameron Bairstow (206-90, college: N.Mexico) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Illawarra Hawks' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Melbourne Phoenix have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Illawarra Hawks at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Melbourne.
