Regular Season Round 8: Adelaide - SE Melbourne 99-94

The most important game in the last round took place in Findon between third ranked Melbourne Phoenix (5-5) and fourth ranked Adelaide 36ers (6-5) on Tuesday night. Melbourne Phoenix was defeated by Adelaide 36ers in a tough game on the road 94-99. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Melbourne Phoenix. Adelaide 36ers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Melbourne Phoenix's 38 and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. The former international center Isaac Humphries (216-98, college: Kentucky) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Adelaide 36ers' coach Conner Henry used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international swingman Mitch Creek (196-92) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists and international swingman Cameron Gliddon (197-89, college: CUI) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Adelaide 36ers and five Melbourne Phoenix players scored in double figures. Adelaide 36ers moved-up to third place. Melbourne Phoenix at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Adelaide 36ers are looking forward to face league's leader United in Melbourne in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Melbourne Phoenix will have a break next round.
