We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Sydney where 5th ranked Kings (4-5) were defeated by sixth ranked Perth Wildcats (4-3) 113-106 on Tuesday. Perth Wildcats made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward John Mooney (206-97, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Bryce Cotton (182-92, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) who added 30 points and 9 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Perth Wildcats' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: LBSU) responded with 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and Brazilian swingman Didi Louzada (198-99) scored 19 points. Four Perth Wildcats and five Kings players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Loser Kings dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Perth Wildcats will meet Cairns Taipans (#8) on the road in the next round. Kings will play against New Zealand Breakers and hope to secure a win.
