Ninth-ranked New Zealand Breakers (3-7) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked United (10-2) in Auckland. The visitors from Melbourne managed to secure only three-point victory 87-84. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of New Zealand Breakers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Mitchell McCarron (189-92, college: MSU Denver) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international center Jock Landale (211-95, college: St.Mary's, CA) who added 23 points during the contest. Four United players scored in double figures. United's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was New Zealand guard Tai Webster (193-95, college: Nebraska) with 32 points and New Zealand guard Corey Webster (188-88, college: Lambuth) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds.
