The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked United (10-2) in Melbourne on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Bullets (7-6) 96-88. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of United. Bullets had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for the former international center Matt Hodgson (211-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. American Victor Law (198-95, college: Northwestern) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Bullets players scored in double figures. The former international center Jock Landale (211-95, college: St.Mary's, CA) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international guard Chris Goulding (192-88) added 21 points in the effort for United. United's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bullets moved-up to third place, which they share with Illawarra. United at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Bullets is looking forward to face Adelaide 36ers (#5) in Findon in the next round. United's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Melbourne to the arena Melbourne Phoenix.
