Regular Season Round 15: Sydney - Melbourne 103-75
Date: March 19, 2021
The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked United (12-5) in Sydney on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by sixth ranked Kings (9-8) 103-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of United. Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: LBSU) who led his team to a victory with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward Jarell Martin (208-94, college: LSU) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Jock Landale (211-95, college: St.Mary's, CA) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Mitchell McCarron (189-92, college: MSU Denver) added 17 points in the effort for United. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kings have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 9-8 record. United at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Kings are looking forward to face league's second-placed Perth Wildcats at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. United's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Melbourne United.
