Regular Season Round 15: Perth - Adelaide 92-82

Date: March 22, 2021
Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Adelaide 36ers (7-12) lost on the road to second ranked Perth Wildcats (11-4) 92-82 on Monday. Perth Wildcats made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game, while Adelaide 36ers only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Adelaide 36ers 37-24 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Bryce Cotton (182-92, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners and scored 36 points (!!!) and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward John Mooney (206-98, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 11 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. The former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) came up with 19 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Jack McVeigh (203-96, college: Nebraska) added 12 points respectively for Adelaide 36ers in the defeat. Four Adelaide 36ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perth Wildcats have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 11-4 record behind leader Melbourne. Adelaide 36ers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Perth Wildcats will meet Kings (#6) in the next round. Adelaide 36ers will play against Cairns Taipans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
