The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Boomers as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Boomers defeated 7th ranked Devils in Bulleen 82-71. Boomers made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Kate Gaze (173-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording 47 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and naturalized British forward Louella Tomlinson (193-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) who added 16 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists during the contest. Boomers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Jamilee Pearce responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Georgia Tauschke scored 17 points. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Devils at the other side dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
