Regular Season Round 20: NZL Breakers - Brisbane 91-71
Date: April 16, 2021
Bottom-ranked New Zealand Breakers managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Friday night. This time they outleveled sixth-ranked Bullets in Auckland 91-71. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference proves that New Zealand Breakers was well-prepared to that game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bullets' players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard William McDowell-White (196-98, college: Fresno St.) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists and American guard Levi Randolph (196-92, college: Alabama) who added 20 points during the contest. Four New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. International guard Nathan Sobey (190-90, college: Wyoming) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Matt Hodgson (211-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. New Zealand Breakers (6-14) moved-up to eighth place. Loser Bullets keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. New Zealand Breakers will meet league's second-placed Perth Wildcats on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bullets will play against the league's leader United (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
