There was a surprise result in Morley where twelfth ranked Eagles (1-1) beat second-ranked Magic (1-1) 95-89 on Saturday. They outrebounded Magic 51-35 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Logan Thwaites (200-97) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and point guard Kieran Berry (183-99) chipped in 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Fred Williams responded with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Riley Parker (183-3) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Eagles and five Magic players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Eagles left bottom position moving up to sixth place in League. Eagles will face Cougars (#10) in Hamilton Hill in the next round. Magic will play on the road against Flames in Rockingham and hope to win that game.
