Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both leader Ringwood Hawks and bottom-ranked Eltham Wildcats had identical 0-0 record. But Eltham Wildcats were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Heathmont 98-88 on Saturday night. Center Adrien Sturt (209-86, college: Snow CC) stepped up and scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and naturalized American guard CJ Asuncion-Byrd (190, college: LeMoyne) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Adam Doyle (176-91) responded with 24 points and guard Justin Aver (190-89) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Ringwood Hawks (1-0) left bottom position moving up to seventh place in League. Loser Eltham Wildcats still closes the standings with one game lost.
