An interesting game for United (18-5) which hosted in Melbourne 4th placed Illawarra Hawks (12-13). First ranked United managed to get a 11-point victory 87-76. United outrebounded Illawarra Hawks 45-24 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international center Jock Landale (211-95, college: St.Mary's, CA) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and naturalized Sudanese center Jo Lual-Acuil (213-94, college: Baylor) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds.
