Ninth-ranked Devils (1-4) were very close to win a game against top-ranked Jets (6-0) in Sunbury. Jets managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected much easier game. Jets forced 19 Devils turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of New Zealand forward Jacinta Beckley (185-95, college: Seattle) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds and guard Bianca Dufelmeier (171-92, college: UAB) who added 15 points during the contest. Beckley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Jets players scored in double figures. Georgia Tauschke responded with 24 points and New Zealand guard Sam Moodie (-96) scored 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Jets maintains first position in League with 6-0 record. Devils at the other side keep the ninth place with four games lost. Jets will play against Whittlesea P. (#10) in Mill Park in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Devils will play on the road against Sharks in Dromana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
