Very expected game when bottom-ranked Eastern Mavericks (0-4) were smashed by third ranked Noarlunga City Southern Tigers (3-2) in Mt. Barker 92-70 on Sunday. Point guard Nick Wurm (183, college: Dickinson St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. American Cameron Coleman (198-92, college: York, NE) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Noarlunga City Southern Tigers players scored in double figures. Naturalized Sudanese center Paul Aleer (213-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and Lachlan Knibbs added 15 points in the effort for Eastern Mavericks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Noarlunga City Southern Tigers went down to fourth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Eastern Mavericks still closes the standings with four games lost. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers will have a break next round. Eastern Mavericks will play on the road against Norwood Flames (#6) in Marden and hope to get finally their first victory.
