Rather predictable result when third ranked Forestville Eagles (3-1) won against 7th ranked Central District Lions (1-3) in Goodwood 85-77 on Sunday. Forestville Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Central District Lions' 36. Central District Lions were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Greg Mays (203-93, college: Green Bay) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Michael Harris contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Forestville Eagles players scored in double figures. Swingman David Humphries (193-91, college: LMU) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized South Sudanese guard Lual Diing (203-94, college: TxWes) added 18 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Central District Lions. Forestville Eagles moved-up to second place in League. Loser Central District Lions dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Forestville Eagles will face Woodville Warriors (#3) in Flinders Park in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Central District Lions will play at home against Mount Gambier Pioneers (#13) and hope to win that game.
