There was a minor upset when 4th placed Melbourne Phoenix (14-13) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Bullets (11-13) 94-82 on Thursday. Bullets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-91, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Wasserman) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds. International guard Nathan Sobey (190-90, college: Wyoming) helped adding 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American forward Ben Moore (203-95, college: SMU) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and international swingman Cameron Gliddon (197-89, college: CUI) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Five Bullets and four Melbourne Phoenix players scored in double figures. Bullets maintains sixth place with 11-13 record. Loser Melbourne Phoenix keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Bullets will meet Adelaide 36ers (#7) in the next round. Melbourne Phoenix will play against Cairns Taipans and hope to secure a win.
