A very interesting game took place in Cranbourne. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Cavaliers (3-4) to eighth ranked Gulls (2-3) 95-92 on Saturday evening. Gulls made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Gulls outrebounded Cavaliers 44-28 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. American Corey Standerfer (201-88, college: York, NE) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and center Nathan Frost (203, college: Central CC) accounted for 30 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized British swingman Matthew Donlan (200-93, college: YSU) came up with 28 points and American point guard Anthony Williams (178-95, college: Clark Atlanta) added 22 points and 5 assists respectively for Cavaliers in the defeat. Gulls moved-up to seventh place in League. Cavaliers at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Gulls' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Jets in Sunbury and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
