Regular Season Round 24: NZL Breakers - Perth 86-84

The most exciting game of round 24 in the NBL took place in Auckland. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-best Perth Wildcats (18-7) to eighth ranked New Zealand Breakers (9-17) 86-84 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. New Zealand Breakers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American guard Levi Randolph (196-92, college: Alabama) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 4 assists. New Zealand guard Tai Webster (193-95, college: Nebraska) contributed with 12 points and 5 assists for the winners. American forward John Mooney (206-98, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international swingman Todd Blanchfield (200-91) added 21 points and 4 assists in the effort for Perth Wildcats. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. New Zealand Breakers maintains eighth position with 9-17 record. Defending champion Perth Wildcats keep the second place with seven games lost. New Zealand Breakers are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Perth Wildcats on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Perth Wildcats will play against the league's leader United where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
