Regular Season Round 24: Melbourne - Sydney 103-78

Date: May 2, 2021
An interesting game for United (21-5) which hosted in Melbourne 3rd ranked Kings (14-13). First ranked United had an easy win 103-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kings. United dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Kings' 38 and made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. United players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Sudanese center Jo Lual-Acuil (213-94, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Chris Goulding (192-88) who added 21 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: LBSU) with 25 points and the former international forward Craig Moller (203-94, agency: BIG) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. United have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-5 record. Kings at the other side keep the third place with 13 games lost. They share the position with SE Melbourne. United's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Melbourne to the arena Melbourne Phoenix.
