Regular Season Round 10: Sandringham S. - Launceston T. 67-100

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Tornadoes (3-2) outplayed 10th ranked Sabres (3-2) in Cheltenham 100-67 on Sunday. Tornadoes outrebounded Sabres 49-32 including 36 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. It was a very good performance for forward Keely Froling (188-96, college: SMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Guard Mariah Payne (170, college: Minot St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Tornadoes players scored in double figures. Point guard Amy ONeill (168-96, college: SFC) replied with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international Jenna OHea (185-87) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sabres. Sabres' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory Tornadoes went down to seventh position (League) due to points difference. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
