There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Redbacks (1-1) lost to top-ranked Hawks (1-0) in Northbridge 70-74 on Saturday. Hawks forced 21 Redbacks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Quite impressive performance for center Madeleine Dennis (186-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Megan McKay (190-97, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Hawks' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Jessica Jakens (181-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Makailah Dyer (175, college: N.Dakota) added 23 points and 6 assists in the effort for Redbacks. Hawks left bottom position moving up to fifth place in League. Loser Redbacks dropped to the sixth position with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
