Very expected game when 8th ranked Warriors (1-5) were smashed by third ranked Panthers (5-1) in Flinders Park 97-68 on Saturday. Panthers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Warriors' 32. Panthers forced 27 Warriors turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Warriors' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Panthers made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for forward Olivia Thompson (185-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. New Zealand guard Jordan Hunter (172-90, college: SEMO) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 assists for the winners. Five Panthers players scored in double figures. Emily Winter replied with 30 points and 8 rebounds and Deanna Troia added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Warriors. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panthers maintains third position in League with 5-1 record having just three point less than leader Sutherland S. Loser Warriors keep the eighth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
