No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Knox Raiders (4-0) beat 7th ranked Hawks (2-2) in Heathmont 83-69 on Saturday. Knox Raiders had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Hawks' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Knox Raiders made 7 blocks. Quite impressive performance for the former international center Marianna Tolo (196-89) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Klara Wischer (185-91, college: San Diego) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Knox Raiders players scored in double figures. Knox Raiders' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Guard Marena Whittle (180-94, college: NDSU, agency: LBM Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and guard Jacqueline Trotto (180-98) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hawks. Knox Raiders maintains third position in League with 4-0 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Sutherland S. Loser Hawks dropped to the eleventh place with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
