Rather expected game when 9th ranked Cairns Taipans (7-21) were defeated at home by seventh ranked Bullets (12-14) 96-87. Bullets made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Nathan Sobey (190-90, college: Wyoming) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Jason Cadee (186-91) contributed with 21 points for the winners. South Sudanese forward Majok Deng (208-93, college: ULM) answered with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Nathan Jawai (209-86, college: Midland CC) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cairns Taipans. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bullets maintains seventh place with 12-14 record. Cairns Taipans lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. Bullets' next round opponent will be higher ranked Kings (#3) in Sydney and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cairns Taipans will play on the road against Melbourne Phoenix (#4) and hope to win that game.
