Very predictable result when top-ranked Hawks (2-0) rolled over bottom-ranked Redbacks (0-2) in Northbridge 96-51 on Saturday. Hawks held Redbacks to an opponent 24.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Hawks had a 40-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for the former international forward Ben Purser (200-90, college: Augusta) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Mitchell Clarke (185-99) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Power forward Louis Timms (206-91, college: WBU) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Joel Wagner (181-87) added 12 points in the effort for Redbacks. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Hawks maintains second position in League with 2-0 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Joondalup W. Loser Redbacks still closes the standings with two games lost. Hawks will face Tigers (#4) in Willetton in the next round. Redbacks will play at home against Eagles (#9) and look forward to get finally their first victory.
