There was a minor upset when higher ranked Knox Raiders (2-2) were outleveled by thirteenth ranked Ringwood Hawks (2-2) in Heathmont 92-73 on Saturday. Ringwood Hawks made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Ringwood Hawks outrebounded Knox Raiders 43-25 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Knox Raiders were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for guard Matthew Snowball who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Forward Matthew Fennell (196) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Simon Grant (195-91) replied with 18 points and center Abraham Nyok (203, college: Yellowstone Chr.) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Knox Raiders. Five Ringwood Hawks and four Knox Raiders players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Ringwood Hawks moved-up to tenth place in League. Ringwood Hawks will face Ballarat Miners (#13) in Wendouree in the next round. Knox Raiders will play on the road against the league's leader Mount Gambier Pioneers having rather not much hope for a victory.
