There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Lightning (1-1) outplayed higher ranked Eagles (1-2) in North Lake 121-60 on Saturday. Lightning forced 25 Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 46-27 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Eagles' players. Quite impressive performance for forward Corey Shervill (201-88, college: St.Edward's) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Jack Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) contributed with 29 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Lightning players scored in double figures. Forward Isaac Offereins (196) replied with 9 points and guard Matt Vinci (184-97) added 9 points in the effort for Eagles. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Lightning left bottom position moving up to seventh place in League. Loser Eagles dropped to the ninth position with two games lost. Lightning will face Slammers (#14) in Bunbury in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eagles will play at home against Giants (#6) and hope to win that game.
