Regular Season Round 10: Inner WB - Canberra N. 38-129

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Inner WB (0-6) was outscored by seventh ranked Nationals (3-2) in Bulls 129-38 on Saturday. Nationals dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Inner WB's 26. Nationals forced 31 Inner WB turnovers and outrebounded them 54-28 including a 24-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Inner WB's players. Quite impressive performance for American guard Sarah Mcappion (175-90, college: Troy) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Point guard Abby Cubillo (161-99) contributed with 25 points and 6 steals for the winners. Four Nationals players scored in double figures. Nationals had such big advantage that coach felt comfortable to give the chance to play for 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Abby OFlynn replied with 7 points and 7 rebounds and Shona OConnell-Shea added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Inner WB. Nationals moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Inner WB still closes the standings with six games lost. Nationals will face Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (#7) in Narrabeen in the next round. Inner WB will play at home against the league's second-placed Hunters (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
