Regular Season Round 10: Melbourne T. - Mt Gambier 95-123

Very expected game when 16th ranked Tigers (1-5) were smashed by fifth ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (5-1) in Melbourne 123-95 on Sunday. Mount Gambier Pioneers shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Quite impressive performance for American center Nick Marshall (213, college: Union, KY) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 5 assists. Center Duom Dawam (208) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Mount Gambier Pioneers' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Keenan Willie replied with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Felix Von Hofe (196-93, college: EWU) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tigers. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Mount Gambier Pioneers keep a position of League leader. Loser Tigers keep the sixteenth place with five games lost. Mount Gambier Pioneers will face Knox Raiders (#12) in Wantirna South in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Tigers will play at home against Dandenong Rangers (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
