No shocking result in a game when third ranked Melbourne Phoenix (16-14) defeated at home 8th ranked New Zealand Breakers (9-19) 91-82 on Wednesday. Melbourne Phoenix made 18-of-18 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. American point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Mitch Creek (196-92) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Melbourne Phoenix players scored in double figures. Melbourne Phoenix's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. New Zealand forward Finn Delany (198-95, college: SW Baptist) responded with 32 points and 6 rebounds and New Zealand forward Robert Loe (211-91, college: St.Louis) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds.
