Very expected game in Condell Park where 9th ranked Bruins (1-4) were rolled over by top-ranked Sharks (5-0) 119-70 on Saturday. Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Bruins' 40. They outrebounded Bruins 44-30 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sharks looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Bruins' players. The best player for the winners was Madeleine Norris who had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Lauren Calver (185, college: HBU) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. Four Sharks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Alicia Poto (166-78) who recorded 15 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and Serbian center Maja Peric (180-89) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Bruins' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Sharks maintains first position in League with 5-0 record. Loser Bruins keep the ninth place with four games lost. Sharks will face Mustangs (#10) in Maitland in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bruins will play at home against Crusaders and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
