Rather predictable result in Joondalup where top-ranked Wanneroo (4-0) outscored 5th ranked Magic (1-1) 69-44 on Saturday. Wanneroo forced 22 Magic turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Wanneroo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: EMU) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import forward Kayla Steindl (187-89, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. Five Wanneroo players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Casey Mihovilovich (173-82) who recorded 16 points and Serika Shillingsworth added 8 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wanneroo maintains first position in League with 4-0 record. Loser Magic dropped to the seventh place with one game lost. Wanneroo will have a break next round. Magic will play at home against Senators (#10) and hope to win that game.
