Very expected game when 12th ranked Panthers (1-4) were smashed by leader Excellence (5-0) in Canberra 123-49 on Saturday. Excellence held Panthers to an opponent 24.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.5 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Panthers 68-32 including a 24-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Excellence looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Panthers' players. International guard Dyson Daniels (193-3) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Max Mackinnon contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Excellence players scored in double figures. Excellence's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Lachlan Charlton answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Joshua Kalwy added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Panthers. Excellence maintains third place in League with 5-0 record having just 2 victories less than leader Perry Lakes H. Loser Panthers dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. Excellence will face Spiders (#14) in Hornsby in the next round which should be another easy win for them.
