Regular Season Round 12: Bendigo LB - Eltham W. 70-63

Round in State League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Bendigo where host Lady Braves (5-2) beat league's leader Wildcats (6-1) 70-63 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Tess Madgen (180-90) who scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Piper Dunlop chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Four Lady Braves players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Anneli Maley (188-98, college: TCU) who recorded 5 points and 27 rebounds and Tess Heal added 22 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Lady Braves maintains fourth position in League with 5-2 record. Wildcats at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Frankston B.. Wildcats will play next round against Tornadoes trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Lady Braves will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
