No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Canberra Gunners (5-2) crushed bottom-ranked Hawks (0-6) in Wollongong 89-67 on Sunday. Center Glenn Morison (208, college: St.Edward's) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds. Broderick Doran contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international guard Sean Mullan (198-90, college: Nova SE) answered with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Lachlan Dent (184-0) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Hawks. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Canberra Gunners maintains fourth place in League with 5-2 record. Loser Hawks still closes the standings with six games lost. Canberra Gunners will face Hills Hornets (#5) in Baulkham Hills in the next round.
