Very expected game in Western Port where 10th ranked Steelers (1-8) were defeated by second ranked Devils (8-2) 91-87 on Saturday. Devils dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Steelers' 18. They outrebounded Steelers 49-35 including 34 on the defensive glass. Devils looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Stefan Pomasan who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 assists and Tomi Ayilara who added 21 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Devils' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Jack Gaze with 25 points and 5 rebounds and center Matthew Turner (210-87) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds. Four Devils and five Steelers players scored in double figures. Devils maintains second position in League with 8-2 record having just ten point less than leader Warwick S. Loser Steelers keep the tenth place with eight games lost. Devils will face Hume City Broncos (#3) in Tullamarine in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Steelers will play on the road against Vikings (#9) in Melbourne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
