Everything went according to plan in Cranbourne where sixth ranked Cavaliers (5-5) beat 9th ranked Vikings (1-7) 94-84 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Anthony Williams (178-95, college: Clark Atlanta) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized British swingman Matthew Donlan (200-93, college: YSU) who added 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was guard Bul Niop (196, college: Dyersburg St.) with 23 points and 6 rebounds and forward Mark Berezdecky (197-93) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Vikings' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cavaliers maintains sixth position in League with 5-5 record. Loser Vikings keep the ninth place with seven games lost. Cavaliers will face higher ranked Cougars (#4) in McKinnon in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vikings will play at home against Steelers (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
