No shocking result in a game in Mt. Barker where eighth ranked Central District Lions (3-4) outleveled bottom-ranked Eastern Mavericks (0-7) 100-78 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Shaquille Maharaj (196, college: Camosun) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and naturalized South Sudanese guard Lual Diing (203-94, college: TxWes) who added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Lachlan Knibbs with 23 points and 5 rebounds and American forward William Wise (206-92, college: Dominican, NY) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Central District Lions moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Eastern Mavericks still closes the standings with seven games lost. Central District Lions will face Norwood Flames (#8) in Marden in the next round. Eastern Mavericks will play on the road against North Adelaide Rockets in Greenacres and hope to get finally their first victory.
