State League top team - Frankston Blues (9-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eighteenth ranked Lady Bandits (0-8) in Seaford 90-67. Frankston Blues outrebounded Lady Bandits 42-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international forward Darcee Garbin (187-94) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Taylah Giliam (173-99) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Five Frankston Blues players scored in double figures. Frankston Blues' coach Jenni Screen felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Emma Mahady (179-92, college: California, PA) replied with 22 points and 5 assists and guard Jade McCowan (177-96) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lady Bandits. Frankston Blues maintains first position in League with 9-0 record. Lady Bandits at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Frankston Blues are looking forward to face Lady Cobras (#11) in Kilsyth in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lady Bandits will play at home against Geelong Supercats (#14) and hope to get finally their first victory.
