Regular Season Round 14: Melbourne T. - Nunawading S. 89-66

Date: May 23, 2021
The game in Melbourne supposed to be also quite interesting. 6th ranked Spectres (5-3) played at the court of seventh ranked Tigers (6-3). Tigers smashed Spectres 89-66 on Sunday. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Point guard Monique Conti (165-99) notched 28 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and forward Zitina Aokuso (192-98) supported her with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 19 points and 7 rebounds by guard Eliza Chilcott-Wright (-90) did not help to save the game for Spectres. New Zealand forward Penina Davidson (190-95, college: California) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Spectres' coach already knew that her team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Tigers moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Spectres dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Tigers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Spectres will play against Ballarat Rush (#13) in Wendouree and hope to secure a win.
