No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Bullets (15-17) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Cairns Taipans (7-26) 101-96 on Wednesday. Bullets made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Bullets looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. International guard Nathan Sobey (190-90, college: Wyoming) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 assists for the winners and the former international center Harrison Froling (211-98, college: Marquette) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Brazilian-American guard Scott Machado (186-90, college: Iona) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists and American-New Zealand guard Mojave King (196-2) scored 25 points. Five Bullets and four Cairns Taipans players scored in double figures. Cairns Taipans' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bullets maintains sixth place with 15-17 record. Cairns Taipans lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Bullets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cairns Taipans will play against Melbourne Phoenix (#3) and hope to secure a win.
