There was a small surprise in Hobart where fifteenth ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (2-7) beat their close opponent Chargers (1-7) 74-60 on Friday. It was a great evening for Sherrie Calleia who led her team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Guard Hannah Young (178-93, college: Kent St.) helped adding 9 points and 14 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Austrian-British forward Ellie Collins (183-98) with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Leah Bartlett produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Chargers players scored in double figures. Mount Gambier Pioneers maintains fifteenth place in League with 2-7 record. Loser Chargers dropped to the sixteenth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
