There was a small surprise in Hobart where fourth ranked Huskies (7-3) outscored their close opponent Mount Gambier Pioneers (7-3) 107-79 on Friday. Naturalized Greek guard Jonathon Mines (193-91, college: NMHU) fired 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Koen Sapwell (193, college: CS Monterey) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Center Duom Dawam (208) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Kane De Wit added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Huskies moved-up to third place in League. Huskies will face Geelong Supercats (#6) at home in the next round. Mount Gambier Pioneers will play against Forestville Eagles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
