Regular Season Round 30: NZL Breakers - Illawarra 73-84

Date: May 28, 2021
The game in Auckland was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Illawarra Hawks (18-15) played at the court of 8th ranked New Zealand Breakers (11-22). Illawarra Hawks defeated New Zealand Breakers 84-73 on Friday. American guard Tyler Harvey (194-93, college: EWU) notched 30 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and international power forward Samson Froling (212-0, college: Creighton) supported him with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Even 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by New Zealand-Irish forward Finn Delany (198-95, college: SW Baptist) did not help to save the game for New Zealand Breakers. American guard Levi Randolph (196-92, college: Alabama, agency: Slash Sports) added 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Illawarra Hawks have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with SE Melbourne. Loser New Zealand Breakers keep the eighth position with 22 games lost. Illawarra Hawks will meet at home league's second-placed Perth Wildcats in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. New Zealand Breakers will play against Adelaide 36ers (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
