Thunder made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. Thunder outrebounded South West Metro Pirates 47-28 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 52.9 percentage. American guard Jeremy Kendle (186-88, college: Bellarmine) fired 20 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Blake Jones (208-2, college: GMU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Thunder players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Kai Woodfall (183, college: MBU) produced 17 points (made all of his seven free throws) and Joel Matysek added 15 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Thunder maintains first place in League with 4-0 record. Loser South West Metro Pirates still closes the standings with three games lost. Thunder will face Townsville Heat (#6) in Hermit Park in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. South West Metro Pirates will play on the road against the league's second-placed Brisbane Capitals (#2) and hope to get finally their first victory.
