Regular Season Round 15: Willetton T. - Eastern Suns 72-65

There was no surprise in Willetton where 14th ranked Suns (1-8) were defeated by second ranked Tigers (7-1) 72-65 on Saturday. Tigers forced 20 Suns turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Connor Mincherton (186-1) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Damien Scott (192-92) helped adding 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Chris Johnson (201-90, college: UIW) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Ryan Blanchett (203-96, college: FNU) scored 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Suns' coach gave the chance to play for twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tigers maintains second place in League with 7-1 record behind leader Perry Lakes H. Loser Suns keep the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Tigers will face Magic (#7) in Mandurah in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Suns will play on the road against Giants (#9) in Kalgoorlie and hope to win that game.
