Everything could happen in Runcorn at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Pirates and 9th ranked Force had identical 1-3 record. This time Pirates used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Booval 81-65 on Saturday night. Pirates dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Force's 18. They outrebounded Force 47-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. Pirates looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Force was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Amanda Johnson who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 19 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of her seven free throws). Forward Isabelle Parker (188, college: UCSD) helped adding 15 points. At the losing side guard Amy Lewis (175-86, college: Troy) responded with 18 points and 4 assists and guard Kelsey McDermott (178-98, college: Newberry) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Force's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Pirates (2-3) moved-up to ninth place in League. Loser Force dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Pirates will face higher ranked Meteorettes (#4) in Mackay in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Force will play at home against Sunshine CP (#5) and hope to win that game.
